Kart Masters GP - 8th

Andy finished 8th in the Grand Final of the Kart Masters GP, held at PF International, Grantham, on the 7th of August.
After a poor Saturday, consisting of a mistake in heat 2 and a first corner incident in heat 3, Andy was way down on the grid in 17th for the beginning of the TKM Extreme 1st Final on Sunday.
With finishing positions in Final 1 becoming the grid positions for the Grand Final, Andy worked his way up to 11th in Final 1.
Making a good start in front of the many spectators and TV cameras around the circuit, Andy got up to 6th at the start but was immediately forced off line into turn 2, costing some time.
A battle with Luke Caudle ensued in the early laps, which Andy eventually won, and started to think about making progress up to the next position. However, coming out of the complex Andy was hit from behind and onto the kerbs, costing more time and allowing Caudle to force Andy off line for the last chicane. Caudle continued to defend despite having a terminally damaged exhaust, and once Andy got past it was already too late to catch the leading group. Rossi took the win and the 'GP' plate, with Andrew Wilkinson and Sam Wilson taking the 2nd and 3rd spots. Andy held off Lewis Scothern in the dying stages of the race to come home 8th, some 4 seconds behind the winner.
The Kart Masters GP will be shown on Motors TV on Saturday 27th August at 2:00pm
